Snowflakes @ Tinket it!

tech: Processing, OpenGL, Computer Vision, Optical Flow
in collaboration with John Nussey, Jon Hewitt

Idea

For the Christmas season 2008, Tinker.it! decided to put its office window to good use and build an interactive display. Based on an original concept by John Nussey, Jon Hewitt & Andras Szalai, we decided to build an RFID-enabled snowflake generator.

The installation was also set up in Budapest as an interactive projection. In this case, the snowflakes were random, however the visitors were able to affect the flow of the particles with their movement.

Processing Sketch

My very first snowflake generator was written in processing. The sketch you can find here
was used to generate unique snowflakes in the projection.
