Pure Data


Pure Data (or PD in short) is a programming environment for prototyping new ideas involving digital signal processing, sound based applications, visualizations, and much more.

Unlike regular text-based programming languages, PD is a visual (so-called node-based) programming language.  The source code in PD is called a “Patch”.

Visual programming can be more natural for beginners, making it easier to learn.  Thus PD has become an an all-time favorite tool for musicians, interactive media artists, and vjs.
